Position
My efforts as an architect arise from the knowledge that a house is far more than a protective shell - it is created according to an expression appropriate to the status of the client. The client's wishes are worked out in collaboration with the architect. The result determines the location and design. With the object, the owner expresses his affiliation or his special position. The aim is to create a field of tension between art, technology and social significance, as the act of building is highly symbolic.
The courage to embrace modernity coupled with respect for tradition is a permanent, exciting training for the designer. This is where the greatest challenges lie in building - especially in existing buildings - when developing concepts and then implementing the ideas.
Mastering materials, light, proportions coupled with knowledge of aesthetics, technology, climate, society and history make this profession one of the most complex activities in our society. Designing is a formative adventure in a world where everything already seems to be structured and discovered.
