The Akademie der Künste, Staedelschule rents the vacated cable factory hall (1950). It is converted according to the wishes of the sculptor Ulrich Rückriem. Today, the academy's sculptors work in the rooms, while the apartment is used by the academy's international visiting professors for their monthly stays.

The two-storey loft offers work space for small teaching events downstairs, while the unconventional kitchen and bathroom installation ensures privacy upstairs.

So LeWitt immortalized himself here with a mural - this work gives the place its unmistakable character.
