Ludwigsburg 2015

Surrounded by striking buildings from the Wilhelminian era, the design is based on and interprets the architectural style of the surrounding neighboring buildings, which were constructed between around 1880 and 1900.

The new buildings transform elements of the surroundings, such as typical bay windows, mansard roofs, crippled hipped roofs, risalits and loggias, into a contemporary "language". This explicitly avoids quoting and imitating building elements.

The eight individual house types respond to the location and site. Similar to the Wilhelminian style, they are typologically derived and make the district appear to have grown over time.
