Verlag der Autoren
The publishing domicile is located in the red light district near the famous Silver Tower. On the first floor of the listed building from 1906, there are 13 workstations in an open-plan area covering 350 m². The scarce daylight determines the organization of the floor.
The 30 m long room is staged, with a room height of 3.40 m, the fixtures are limited to 2.50 h. In order to show the open-plan space in its entirety, necessary fixtures are suspended in a filigree manner.
Along the wide central corridor, 13 glass work boxes and an archive are lined up on both sides. They are optimally dimensioned, leaving space for desks and shelving. The balustrades are low, the employees visually participate in the open-plan space. The center is used for team meetings and informal work - long tables can also be set up for publishing house parties.
The main archive acts as the "heart" - the most important documents since 1969 (when the publishing house was founded) can be found here. A large part of the archive was moved to the Frankfurt University Archive in 2012. The most important results of the successful theater and media publishing house are exhibited in small display cases.
The austere space provides the publishing house, which is owned by around 160 authors, with a neutral background for presenting its content.
